These are contained within a morocco leather case which bares the word 'Cookie', in gold letters on the inner lining. This set would have been used in a procedure called 'wet cupping', a form of bloodletting used in the nineteenth century to 'treat' a range of ailments by removing surplus bodily 'humours' (fluids within the body). The set is English and dates from around 1860.
