Caption: Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) contains four groups of medicinally active chemicals: Caffeine acid 4-rutinoside, Diterpenes of the labdane type, Flavonoids, and Iridoids. Traditionally it is used in the treatment of racing heart (tachycardia) caused by nervous tension. Motherwort is also used to treat menstrual tension, false labour pains, and it is useful in the stimulation of delayed or suppressed menstruation.
