Caption: Impetigo. This is common in children, and lesions enlarge and spread quickly. Here they appear as small vesicles which quickly rupture and form plaques with a characteristic yellow crust. Lesions are often widespread. The type of lesions seems to be determined by the organism, crusted plaques, as seen here, are usually associated with staphylococci and streptococci.
