A molecular model of dopamine, a neurotransmitter responsible for communication between neurons in the brain. Dopamine transmission increases in the brain during instances of rewarding activities and reward-driven learning. Addicting stimulant drugs such as cocaine and methamphetamine also influence dopamine levels. Atoms are colored dark gray (carbon), light gray (hydrogen), blue (Nitrogen) and red (oxygen).
