Caption: Ice skating in France, 19th-century artwork. The scene shows a man pushing a woman seated on a sled on a frozen lake during winter. Artwork from 'Fetes Galantes' (Paris, H. Piazza, 1928), an album of poetry with romantic prints of French life among the upper classes of the 19th century. The lithograph prints have pochoir highlighting by French artist George Barbier (1882-1932).
