Caption: Mythical beasts. Artwork of a lion-headed giant (left) and a man-eating giant (right). The lion-headed giants are described as being of three colours, twenty feet long and with huge mouths. If pursued they flee and sweat blood. The man-eating giants are described as having legs twelve feet long and backs seven feet broad. They are black in colour and devour whomever they catch. Taken from 'Marvels of the East' (11th century).
