Caption: Seneca, artwork. Lucius Annaeus Seneca was a Roman philosopher, statesman and dramatist. He was born in Cordoba between 4 and 1BC, and died in 65 AD. He studied in Alexandria, Rome and Greece, and followed the philosophy of Stoicism. He was tutor and advisor to the Roman emperor Nero. Image from 'L. Annae Senecae Philosophi Opera omnia', published in Antwerp in 1605.
