Caption: Lithographic limestone, close-up. This sample of this calcareous sedimentary rock dates from the Middle Jurassic (Upper Bathonien) from around 162 million years ago. This stone, formerly used to print lithographic artworks, is now used for road materials. This specimen is part of the Geoscope geological park, located between Les Monts-Vert and Albaret-Sainte-Marie, central France.
