On her way into slavery in Greece following the fall of Troy, Queen Hecuba, assisted by other captive Trojan women, gouges out the eyes of Polymestor, King of Thrace, in revenge for the murder of her last surviving child Polydorus, who had been sent to Thrace for safekeeping during the Trojan War.
