Caption: Kehrwieder. 1883 engraving showing a view over the Elbe river and the district of Kehrwieder, prior to its redevelopment to allow for the expansion of the Port of Hamburg. The Kehrwieder and Wandrahm residential quarters were demolished in 1883 to allow construction of the customs and duty-free zone of the ever-expanding Port of Hamburg, displacing around 20,000 residents.
