Caption: Baby feeder dating from nineteenth century England. This would be filled with liquid food or 'pap' (usually a combination of milk, bread, flour and sugar) which the infant could suck through the teat-like spout. This was supplementary to breast feeding. This feeding bottle is ceramic, transfer printed with a blue and white floral pattern.
