Caption: Secondary brain cancer. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of the brain of a 50 year old female patient showing malignant (cancerous) tumours (white). These are secondary miliary tumours that have metastasised from a primary breast cancer. Tumours put pressure on the brain, causing a range of symptoms, such as headaches, seizures and vomiting. Treatment is with surgery to remove the tumour, or radiotherapy or immunotherapy to reduce its size. An intravenous gadolinium injection was administered to highlight the tumours.
