Caption: Osmosis through a semipermeable membrane, animation. This membrane is permeable to water (red and white) but not to organic molecules (blue and white). Organic molecules (urea) entering the solution on the left side of the membrane create an osmotic pressure. This causes more water molecules to enter the left side of the membrane to reduce the higher solute concentration.
