Caption: The red-knobbed starfish (Protoreaster linckii), also known as the red spine star, is a species of starfish. The skeleton is composed of many calcareous ossicles and spicules. These starfish are surprisingly aggressive and actively hunt for food. The fact that these starfish can move around and sense light with their legs helps them to survive. Photographed off the coast of Zanzibar, Tanzania, East Africa.
