Caption: Antarctic ice sheet. Computer model of the Antarctic ice sheet compiled from millions of measurements, taken over decades, from satellites, aircraft and surface surveys. These measurements, and those of the bedrock beneath the ice, are crucial to understanding how the ice sheet changes, including how its melting could contribute to global sea level rises. This model, known as Bedmap2, was compiled by the British Antarctic Survey.
