Caption: Blinov continuous track tractor. Artwork of the first steam-powered crawler tractor, which was first demonstrated in 1896. It was designed by the Russian inventor Fyodor Abramovich Blinov (1827-1902) who patented the first tracked vehicles, which were horse-drawn, in 1879. Illustration from 'Tractor Design' by G.
