Caption: Georgy Boreskov (1907-1984), Soviet chemist. Boreskov founded the Institute of Catalysis (now known as the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis) in Novosibirsk, Siberia, in 1958. He was its director until his death in 1984. Here he worked on the mathematic modelling of industrial catalytic processes and developed new catalysts.
