Caption: Fossil fish tooth palate. This specimen is from the fish Pycnodus zeaformis, described by Longbottom in 1984. It is from the Lower or Middle Eocene phosphate formations at Tamanguillet in the Gao region of Mali. The Eocene lasted from around 56 to 34 million years ago. Length 85 millimetres.
