Caption: Transit of Venus observations. Children and astronomers in southern Siberia observing the June 2012 transit of Venus. They are using filters and telescopes to observe Venus moving across the face of the Sun. The transit occurred between 22:09 UTC on 5 June and 04:49 UTC on 6 June (05:09 to 11:49 local time on 6 June). This was the second of a pair of transits, with the earlier transit occurring in 2004. The next pair of transits will occur in 2117 and 2125. Photographed at the Planetarium Center for Children and Youths, Novosibirsk, Russia.
