Caption: Spleen tissue. Fluorescence deconvolution micrograph of a section through spleen tissue, showing periarteriolar lymphoid sheaths (PALS). These structures are part of the spleen's white pulp, and contain mostly T cells. PALS surround the central arteries within the spleen. Cellular proteins are highlighted with fluorescent markers: smooth muscle actin (red), f-actin (green), and cell nuclei (blue). Magnification: x200 when printed at 10 centimetres across.
