Caption: Two ear cones dating from around 1910, England. These hand held devices were used to aid those with hearing difficulties. The device would clip over the ear and the wide dome would act as a 'sound collector' increasing the intensity of sound entering the ear. These faux tortoiseshell cones are made from celluloid.
