Caption: Metastatic lung cancer. Light micrograph of a section through bowel tissue showing a secondary (metastatic) tumour. This is an adenocarcinoma that has spread from a primary tumour in the lung. Adenocarcinomas arise from the lining (epithelium) of the lung. Lung cancers are usually caused by tobacco smoking, and are fatal unless caught early. Magnification: x250 when printed at 10 centimetres wide. Human tissue.
