Caption: Vitim meteorite of 2002. Artwork of the meteorite or possible comet fragment that is thought to have fallen to Earth from space on the night of 25 September 2002, and exploded near Bodaybo in the Vitim river basin, Mamsko-Chuysky District, Irkutsk Region, Russia. The impact area, or airburst explosion, was in a remote region of Siberian taiga (forest). Photographed in July 2003.
