Caption: Venus of Kostenki, Stone Age figurine. This bone figurine was unearthed near the village of Kostenki, Voronezh Region, Russia. It is thought to be from the oldest-discovered Neoanthropic settlement, tentatively dated to the 50th century BC. Venus figurines are prehistoric statuette female figures that have similar features, with anatomical exaggerations. They are among the earliest known examples of prehistoric art.
