Caption: Rhabditis rainai nematode, artwork. This nematode worm was previously assigned to the genus Metarhabditis. The scale bars give a length of 20 micrometres. The artwork at left shows the entire body and its internal organs. The artwork at centre is a close-up of the mouthpart (also at top right). The artwork at right shows the nematode worm from the mouthpart down the oesophagus to the rounded structure known as the median bulb. In the main artwork, the organs at left are the intestines and the ovaries (containing eggs). The anus and tail are at bottom right. This nematode worm is being studied as a potential biocontrol agent against Formosan termites.
