Caption: Margaret Buckingham (born 1945), British-French developmental biologist, at a 'Speed Science' event organised to allow 100 young people to meet a range of eminent French scientists. Buckingham has worked at the Pasteur Institute since 1987. Her research is on the formation of muscle and heart tissues. Made a Knight of the Legion of Honour in 2002, and elected a member of the French Academy of Sciences in 2005, she was elected Foreign Member of the Royal Society in 2013. Photographed in 2012, at the French Academy of Sciences, Paris, France.
