Caption: Veterinarian preparing a morbidly obese pig (Sus sp.) for surgery. During surgery, electrodes and a pacemaker will be implanted to electrically stimulate the vagus nerve. The vagus nerve controls satiety, so stimulation of it will make the animal feel full. The work is part of a study on the effects of obesity in farm animals. Photographed at the INRA, France.
