Caption: Cat flea (Ctenocephalides felis) larva, light micrograph. Cat flea larvae lack eyes and legs. They mainly feed on the faeces of adult fleas, which contain dried blood. After metamorphosis through three instars (stages) the larva will spin a cocoon and enter the pupal stage.
