Caption: Multilocular thymic cysts, light micrograph of section of thymus. Multilocular (having many small cavities) thymic cysts (MTCs) are considered to be acquired lesions associated with various inflammatory conditions and/or malignant tumors. The main histologic features of MTC included the following: multiple cystic cavities partially lined by squamous, columnar, or cuboidal epithelium with severe acute and chronic inflammation accompanied by fibrovascular proliferation, necrosis, hemorrhage. Magnification: x 60 when printed at 10 centimetres wide. Human tissue.
