Caption: Lungs and rib-cage. Outline artwork of a female figure showing a frontal (anterior) view of the lungs (pink), rib-cage, trachea (upper centre), the cervical and thoracic vertebrae, and the nerves of the brachial plexus (yellow, upper right). The front ribs and the sternum (breast bone) have been removed. The brachial plexus is a grouping of nerves in the neck and upper shoulder branching from the lower cervical spine and upper thoracic spine. The nerves pass over the first rib and under the clavicle (collar bone). The nerves radiating from this plexus include the ulnar, median and radial nerves of the arm.
