Caption: Uranus, Hubble Space Telescope (HST) image. A rare dark cloud is seen at right in the planet's atmosphere. It measures 1700 by 3000 kilometres. Uranus is the seventh planet from the Sun. It has a diameter of four times that of Earth and a volume of 64 Earths. It is a gas giant with an atmosphere of mostly hydrogen and helium, but much of the planet is solid rock and ice below the atmosphere. Image obtained on 23rd August 2006 by the HST's Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) instrument.
