Caption: Coloured frontal X-ray of the tibia (shin bone) of a patient with Ewing's sarcoma, a rare malignant (cancerous) form of bone tumour (dark blue at upper centre). The condition is most common in children between 10 and 15 years of age but can also arise in young adults. The cancer can metastasise (spread) to other parts of the body at an early stage, so treatment by surgical removal of the tumour must be carried out quickly, along with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
