Caption: Charles Brenton Huggins (1901-1997), Canadian-US physician, physiologist and Nobel laureate. Huggins shared the 1966 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine with Peyton Rous. The share of the Nobel Prize was awarded for Huggins's work on the hormonal treatment of prostatic cancer. Huggins studied at Acadia University in Nova Scotia, Canada, then at Harvard University, USA. He carried out his research at the University of Chicago, where this photograph was taken.
