Uterine cance. Light micrograph (LM) of a section of an adenoid basal carcinoma of the uterus. Adenoid basal carcinoma of the uterine cervix is a rare tumor with a favorable prognosis. Treatment for most patients involves hysterectomy, LEEP (loop electrosurgical excision procedure), or a conization (excision of a cone-shaped or cylindrical wedge) procedure which provides a favorable prognosis because of this lesion's low potential for recurrence and metastasis. Glandular or acinar structures such as is illustrated are commonly found in adenoid basal lesions. Magnification: x 60 when printed at 10 centimetres wide. Human tissue.
