Caption: Accurate liquid measurement. Close-up of the neck of a volumetric flask showing the meniscus (curve at the top) of the liquid in it. When measuring liquids in graduated flasks the reading should be taken from the centre of the meniscus. Depending upon the liquid involved, a meniscus may be either concave (as here) or convex. This liquid is iron (II) sulphate.
