There has been an overall mass loss, as shown by the graph at bottom left, during this decade. However, as the map shows this loss has not been uniform across the continent. The West Antarctic Ice Sheet (left) has seen significant loss of mass (dark red). A large proportion of the continent has seen no change (white), while some areas have seen a small increase (blue) in ice mass. Image based on data obtained by NASA's twin Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellites.
