White-tailed eagle (left) and Steller's sea eagle (right) perched on ice. The white-tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla) has a wingspan of almost 2.5 metres and is found across much of northern Eurasia, where it inhabits coastal regions. The Steller's sea eagle (Haliaeetus pelagicus) lives in coastal regions of northeastern Asia. They both prey mainly on fish and water birds. Photographed on Hokkaido, Japan.
