Caption: RNA tumor virus, coloured transmission electron micrograph (TEM). This view shows numerous intracellular RNA (ribonucleic acid) tumor virus particles (yellow) in a central nervous system sample. This virus is an example of an oncovirus, a virus that can cause cancer. The RNA tumor virus is a member of the family Oncovirinae. Based upon virion morphology, and host range, Oncovirinae members are classified into four groups: A, B, C, and D. These virions are classified as group C.
