Caption: Alcibiades (c.450-404 BC), Ancient Greek statesman. Alcibiades rose to prominence as a military advisor, fighting for both Athens and Sparta during the Peloponnesian War. There are conflicting accounts of his death, but it is thought that he was assassinated by the Spartans.
