Caption: Honolulu, Hawaii, as seen from the International Space Station (ISS). This city is located on the coast, with the waters of the Pacific Ocean across bottom, and the built-up areas extending onto the steep volcanic slopes across top (partially obscured by clouds). There are two large volcanic craters in the city. Punchbowl Crater (just left of centre) is the location of the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Diamond Head (1073 metres across) is at bottom right. Only parks and the steepest ridges remain undeveloped. Photographed by an Expedition 7 crew member on 8 October 2003.
