Caption: Galaxy NGC 7049, Hubble Space Telescope (HST) image. This galaxy is around 150,000 light years across. It has prominent dust lines backlit by a bright glow. Globular clusters are visible scattered around the galactic halo. This galaxy is 100 million light years away, in the constellation of Indus. This combined infrared and optical image was obtained by Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS). It was published in April 2009.
