Caption: Illustration shows technique for evaluation of myofascial pain as a possible source of chronic pelvic pain. The patient lifts head and shoulders off of the examination table to flex the abdominal wall muscles (rectus abdominus and pyramidalis muscles) which isolates the muscles from internal organs. While the muscles are under tension, a finger search is performed to search out evidence of a myofascial trigger point. A marker is used to identify and track MTrPs in the patient's medical records.
