Caption: A small rectangular aperture (190x110 micron) is placed in a beam produced by a red Helium-Neon laser operating at 632.8 nm. The resulting Fraunhofer diffraction patterns are observed at about 23 cm away. The central diffraction lobe is oversaturated so that the outer fringes are more prominent.
