Louis Dohme began working in Baltimore, Maryland, for local pharmacist Alpheus Phineas Sharp. Both Louis and his brother Charles studied at the Maryland College of Pharmacy, and the three men worked to create what became known as the Sharp and Dohme pharmaceutical company.
