Caption: Hodgkin's lymphoma. Coloured X-ray showing enlarged cancerous lymph nodes in the chest of a 28-year-old male patient with Hodgkin's lymphoma. The large pale area lower centre is the heart. The enlarged lymph nodes (adenomegalies) appear as small pale regions either side of the heart. Hodgkin's lymphoma is a malignant (cancerous) growth of white blood cells (lymphocytes). The most common symptom is swollen, non-painful lymph nodes in the upper body, but it can also develop in other organs and tissues. It is most common in young adults and those over 50. Treatment is with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
