Caption: Memorial to 11 September 2001. Names by one of the two pools forming the National September 11 Memorial, New York City, New York, USA. This memorial, commemorating the 11 September 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center (WTC) and other locations, was constructed where the WTC towers had stood. Each pool has waterfalls cascading down the sides. The names of the 2983 dead are inscribed on 76 bronze plaques on the parapets. William 'Bill' Biggart, a photographer documenting the attacks, was killed when the second tower fell. The memorial was dedicated in 2011, on the tenth anniversary of the attacks. Photographed in July 2012.
