Caption: The Great Mormon, latin name Papilio memnon, is a species of butterfly belonging to the swallowtail family. It is a relatively large butterfly having black fore wings with a marked red spot close to the front body, while the underside is dark-brown. The female is polymorphic and practices mimesis, that is imitating behaviour. The Great Mormon is widely distributed in east and southern Asia and has thirteen subspecies.
