Point-of-care diagnostics, IBM research. Microchip used for diagnostics ('lab on a chip') as developed by IBM scientists Luc Gervais and Emmanuel Delamarche at IBM Research-Zurich, Switzerland. This IBM system uses an innovative silicon chip and can test for many diseases, including cardiovascular disease. It can also test for chemical and biological hazards and monitor medicinal therapies.
