Caption: Crocoite. This mineral is a form of lead chromate (PbCrO4). It is very rare and occurs sporadically in lead deposits. Due to its vibrant and intense red colour, is extremely popular with collectors. It is rarely found as a large crystal, mostly forming aggregates of small prismatic crystals, as here.
