Caption: Female genitals. Thermographic footage and animation of a woman's genitals, vagina and clitoris. The thermogram is the first half of the clip, with the 3D animation the second half. A thermogram shows variation in temperature on the surface of an object, measured by the long-wave infrared radiation it emits. The temperature scale is colour-coded from black (cold) through blue, green and yellow to red and white (hottest). This thermogram footage shows that certain skin areas around the genitals are warmer, while the genitals themselves are warmer than their surroundings. The animation shows the process of female genital arousal. From top, the structures shown are the clitoral glans and hood, the urethral opening, and the vaginal opening. The lobed structures either side of these are the internal structure of the clitoris and vulva. They are shown expanding as arousal takes place.
